Saltwater's Weep

New Game 3-10

The spiritual warrior Josselyn served as Soah’s champion and defeated Adomo. A deceptively simple use of Mage Hand allowed Sarah to overturn the palaquin of Adomo’s grandfather. The fall shattered his spine and killed his decrepit form. This placed Adomo’s mother in charge of the Family and Treeg as the heir.

After the duel the group split up, and discovered that Krull’s Forge Master had been murdered. When the party met up they found Krunsh Ironforge and the Anti-Paladin Skeeva celebrating in a tavern. Zephyr followed to challenge them only to die at the hands of Skeeva while the rest of the group tried to save him. Soah sliced the head from Skeeva’s body to end her threat and repay her for killing Zephyr. The group were arrested and put on trial for disturbing the peace and public mayhem.

Magister Ito examined the evidence and found enough proof to clear the party. Sarah was joined by Kyba an Elvish Barbarian who served another branch of her family. They were directed to visit Torrin and learn the next step in their service to Chota the Black. Torrin had been poisoned and in saving his life they accidentally released him from the Madness curse Choto used to enslave him. Torrin quickly gave them the slip and vanished.

Krull and Soah went to visit Thomas Nimble, leader of the Iron Blade Trading Company and ruler of crime in Saltwater’s Weep while Sarah and Kyba went to discuss the situation of Torrin with Choto. After a lengthy meeting in which Nimble relieved Krull of his concerns and ownership of the Ironforge Forge they left his office to discover that they had somehow spent a negative amount of time in their interview. This allowed them to meet Sarah & Kyba when they got out of their meeting with Choto.

Choto, as usual, threatened and dismissed them. Telling them she’d deal with them later. When the party got back together at Sarah’s home they discovered the project her brother had been working on. A style of 3 dimensional chess-like game which Habeak had helped iron out the rules and strategies for. With his backing Sarah’s brother had gained the wealth he needed to get a small manor almost in Uptown. Discussing their problems and Choto’s threats Sarah took Habeak with her on a night performance at a local tavern, getting him somewhat intoxicated. Sarah didn’t realize how easily Habeak would grow drunk, nor how volatile the quiet scholar might truly prove to be. Habeak left the tavern and flew through the city until he reached Choto the Black. Sarah arrived just in time to witness Habeak destroy her mind with a Feeblemind curse. Sarah took Habeak home to get him settled and when the party returned they found that Choto’s head had been twisted around and her home partially looted.

Azer Locke informed Sarah that she had been commanded to perform for the Warlord. She was given minimal time to prepare. With the help of her Great-Grandfather and her human Aunt Bianca Sarah’s performance was a success. After the show however it was revealed that she and her companions were being brought into the personal service of the Warlord. This triggered some severe jealousies among others of his servants and has put the party on a treacherous slope where failure could result in death, but so could success.

Their first mission was to travel to the Alchemist’s island of Latanoss, retrieve a package and deliver it to the Kingdom of Vasandii. When they arrived they discovered that the package was in fact a woman. A Half-elven summoner who had been “enhanced” to make her a beautiful bride for the Vasandii king. The ship journey would take a month to reach the distant kingdom. 3 days after leaving the ship was attacked by a sea serpent which the companions easily defeated. A week later they had the misfortune of running across a Dragon Turtle, which attacked the ship. They killed the beast with the help of the future Queen’s eidolon, but the ship’s captain was slain.

The party faces an awkward predicament. The crew is strangely inept and weak, possibly the result of tampering from a jealous rival servant of the Warlords. The Captain is dead and none on board have ever reached, visited, or even heard of Vasandii before. What are they to do?

Krull came home to discover his shared apartment had been ransacked and the sigil of Asmodeus was carved into the wall. Quickly leaving he found a new place to live, coincidentally the same boarding house Zephyr has lived in since childhood.

Soah meanwhile was forced to flee home imprisonment when her mother decided she was going to be married in the morning. With the help of her best friend Habeak she managed to flee to the bay and then make her way to Sarah’s home in Midtown. Unfortunately she received word that her father had been challenged to a duel to the death by Adomo her fiancee in response to her flight. The two began interviewing duelists in an effort to keep Soah’s father alive.

Soah, Sarah, Krull & Zephyr are unlikely comrades drawn together by conspiracy and plotting. Tricked into working for the wizardess Cholco The Black they’ve so far had to bargain with a bartending Halfling for a magical spear and raid a sewer lair of feral goblinoids. They’ve also had to rely on the intellectual workings of Torin, a mad archivist being controlled by Cholco with some sort of magical ring.

Zephyr keeps a secret from his allies… an employer which he is not meant to reveal.

They’ve also met and been working with the enigmatic incubus Azer Locke, who masquerades as a genteel half-elf.

So far the adventurers of Saltwater’s Weep have had the unenviable position of being under the thumb of the teifling Thomas Nimble, leader of the Iron Blade Guild. Tom has been using them to hunt down his opposition and root out secrets for himself.

The group managed to infiltrate and then assassinate most of the Night Queen’s servants, though they accidently encountered her and were forced to retreat from her magical prowess.

They murdered the family of one of their own when he died. Unknown to most of them Nimble sent them to assassinate an elven family, the family of their own deceased wizard. Nimble did this to ensure that his family would not be seeking vengeance.

After a public brawl with the Red Sun Slavers the party gained minor notoriety and was wanted for questioning by the guards of Midtown. When the guards approached them to take them in the party responded with violence and sarcasm, wiping out two entire patrols of the cities uniformed guard. Nimble stepped in to protect his investment and had the entire party put into hiding. Since then the party has purchased a house to use as a base of operations.
